Sign up today to participate in Clay County's Direct Payment Plan for Real Estate Taxes.  It is free, dependable and convenient.

You may sign up to participate in Clay County's Direct Payment Plan for Real Estate Taxes. Your checking or savings account will then be automatically debited the amount of your tax payment. The debit will take place on May 15 and October or November 15 (whichever is applicable). If this date falls on a weekend, your account will be debited on the next business day. After signing up for the Direct Payment Plan, you will continue to be automatically debited the amount of your tax payment until you notify the Clay County Treasurer's Office in writing that you wish to withdraw.

You may enroll at any time; however, it is important that you enroll at least 3 weeks prior to an upcoming payment date in order to be included in direct payment for that date.  Direct Debit Enrollment Form

Escrow
Your lending institution may be escrowing your taxes for you. This means that you are paying a portion of your property tax in every payment you make to them. Your tax money is kept in a special escrow account. The escrow agent is responsible for paying your property taxes by the due date. Contact your mortgage company or lending institution if you have questions regarding escrowing.
