Definition of Certificate of Real Estate Value
Certificates of Real Estate Value (CRV) are required by the State of Minnesota when recording a document that transfers property with a purchase price of over $1,000. The Clay County Auditor collects the CRVs as part of the preliminary recording process. The Minnesota Department of Revenue will require you to create eCRVs and submit them electronically as of October 1, 2014.
All CRVs back to 2011 can be searched online by subscribing to Laredo, the Clay County Recorder’s Office online product. Special search data is entered to allow searching by county location, land use type and others. See Tips for Searching CRVs in Laredo for more information. The Minnesota Department of Revenue website does provide for searching eCRVs. However, at this time the majority of CRVs submitted are paper.
