Payment Options on Property Taxes
The Clay County Treasurer Office has moved to a new location March 2021. The Government Center address is 3510 12th Ave South in Moorhead.
Drop Box
There is a drop box in the entry way of the Government Center.
Direct Payment
It is free, dependable and convenient. Submit a Direct Debit Enrollment Form (PDF)
Your account will be automatically debited the amount of your tax payment on the dates due.
Online Payment
You can pay your current tax bill online by using either an e-check or by credit card.
Delinquent taxes can only be paid in person or by mail to the Clay County Auditor’s Office.
Other Conventional Options
U.S. Mail & Special Delivery: Your payment must be postmarked on or before the due date to be considered paid on time. Payments must be in U.S. dollars by money order, cashier’s check or by personal bank check. They should be made payable to Clay County Treasurer.
In Person: Payments must be in U.S. dollars by cash, money order, cashier’s check or by bank check. They should be made payable to Clay County Treasurer.
Online Check Writing & Bill Pay Services: Contact your financial institution for information regarding this potential option.
Escrow: Your lending institution may be escrowing your taxes for you. Contact your mortgage company or lending institution if you have questions regarding escrowing. See Conventional Options for more information.
