Family Home Visiting

Clay County Public Health provides prenatal and early childhood home visiting programs for parents and caregivers. A specially trained public health nurse will provide home visits beginning during pregnancy or after delivery, and continue until the child reaches 2-3 years of age.

Nurse Services

The nurse will promote positive parent-child relationships and healthy attachment- early, nurturing relationships are the foundation for life-long healthy development. Family home visiting nurses serve pregnant women and parents of young children facing challenges such as single parenting, low income, substance abuse, mental health issues, limited social supports, or a history of adverse childhood experiences. These programs create strong, healthy, thriving, independent children and families.
