Clay County Business Relief Program

Moorhead, MN - On December 16th, 2020 Governor Walz signed legislation establishing a $216 million-dollar Small Business Relief Package for Minnesota businesses affected by COVID-19.   The legislation provided three categories of funding, with $114.8 million dollars to be distribute to counties based on population.  Clay County has received $1,274,738.02.

On January 12th, 2021, the Clay County Board of Commissioners unanimously approved the Clay County Business Relief Program. The guidelines of this program were established through a collaboration with Clay County and City representatives with a goal in providing financial assistance to business owners who have experienced financial hardship as a direct result of Executive Order 20-99. The focus on this business relief program will be restaurants, bars, gyms, theaters, and event centers.

All applications are subject to meeting grant criteria. The program is not first-come, first-served and will not be distributed through a lottery system. Grant amounts will be based on a business’s ability to show need and the number of applications which meet the criteria.

Applications will be accepted online starting Tuesday, January 12th, 2021 thru January 24th @ 11:59pm Complete guidelines, eligibility requirements, and application information can be accessed through the County website https://claycountymn.gov/COVID-Relief
