Clay County Social Services employs six Child Support Officers and six Child Support Enforcement Aides. Their primary responsibilities are to:
- Locate parents
- Establish parentage
- Establish court orders for basic support, medical support, and childcare support
- Enforce court orders for support
- Review and modify court orders for support
- Enforce support when one parent does not reside in Minnesota
- Collect and process payments
In this unit, they collected over 7 million dollars in Child Support payments that went out to supporting children and provided services in over 2,400 cases.
