On June 3, 2025, Clay County Public Health (CCPH) received a check from the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) in the amount of $129,540.

This is CCPH’s share of the settlement between with the MPCA and the former Budweiser plant in Moorhead.

CCPH has one year to use the money to benefit the people of Moorhead

This means that by June 3, 2026, CCPH must complete the following:

  1. Conduct a robust public input process to solicit ideas from as broad a cross-section of Moorhead residents as possible.
  2. Decide what to use the money for based on the above public input process.
  3. Complete the chosen project(s).
  4. Submit a final report to the state legislature.

CCPH is allowed to retain some of the funding for our own administrative costs
