Inspector

The duties of the county Agricultural Inspector are to see that all laws and rules dealing with noxious weeds are carried out within their jurisdiction.

Low Interest Loan Program

Rural landowners in Clay County who need financial assistance to install Agricultural Best Management Practices (Ag BMPs) can inquire about a low interest loan at the Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) Office. The Ag BMPs Program provides loans for projects that reduce existing water quality problems caused by agricultural activities or failing septic systems.

Eligibility

Eligible people are:

  • Farmers
  • Rural Landowners
  • Agribusinesses

Eligible practices include:

  • Feedlot Upgrades
  • Structural Erosion Practices
  • Conservation Tillage Equipment
  • Repair of Sub Surface Treatment Systems (SSTS)

Program Details

  • Loan Interest Rate: 3% (plus 1/2% Origination Fee)
  • Maximum Loan Amount per Entity: $100,000

How to Apply

  • Applications are made at the Clay SWCD Office
  • Applications are prioritized by the Clay SWCD Board
  • Landowners meet with local lender (Bremer Bank in Moorhead) to work out loan agreement
  • Project can start after loan approved by local lender
