Vaccination Information

The Minnesota Department of Health tasks local public health departments to vaccinate certain populations. Clay County Public Health is currently vaccinating individuals in Phase 1a and is contacting those who are eligible. Phase 1a includes healthcare personnel, emergency medical services, COVID-19 community vaccinators, COVID-19 testing staff, long-term care residents, E-12 educators, and childcare providers.

Please know that it will take time to move through each group in Phase 1a. Because of this, it is unknown when the general public will be able to receive the vaccine from Clay County Public Health. As we move into the next phases, updates will be provided on our website, vaccine information phone line, e-newsletter, and Facebook page.

Minnesotans age 65 and over may receive their vaccine from a healthcare provider, such as a clinic or pharmacy. Use the vaccine provider map link below to see which healthcare providers are registered vaccine providers for this population. If you are a patient of a healthcare system, you will be notified by your provider when you can schedule a vaccine.

Minnesotans age 65 or over who registered for the state's COVID-19 community vaccination pilot program, but were not chosen to receive a vaccine during the pilot timeframe, will continue to have the opportunity to be selected to schedule an appointment at one of the State of Minnesota's permanent COVID-19 community vaccination sites. Current locations are in Minneapolis, Duluth, and Rochester. For more information please visit the link below. More site locations may be added in the future.

The state of Minnesota is taking an all-of-the-above approach to vaccine distribution. This approach bolsters the proven network of local health care providers, which is how most Minnesotans should expect to receive the vaccine once the federal government ramps up vaccine supply to meet demand.

Please be aware of scams regarding vaccinations. Clay County Public Health will never ask for payment for a COVID-19 vaccine.
