  • Any Household Hazardous Waste (not from businesses) can be taken to the Clay County Resource Recovery Center in North Moorhead.

• Railroad ties (unless cut under 3 feet in length)

"Problem Wastes" Banned from Disposal with Regular Garbage

• Asbestos (must be permitted and handled separately, call landfill staff before bringing asbestos)
• Fluorescent and high intensity discharge (HID) lamps; and ballasts containing polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) (placed in separate location onsite at landfill)
• Lead acid batteries (and other rechargeable/recyclable batteries) (placed in separate location onsite at landfill)
• Major appliances (individual items are placed in appliance corral)
• Oil filters (place in designated drop-off container)
• Waste oil (recycling tank onsite at landfill)
