This division includes deputies assigned to the Civil Process, Warrants and Transports and Court Security.
Civil Process Services and Fees
The Civil Process Unit is responsible for serving court orders such as: Orders for Protection, Harassment Orders, Subpoenas, Orders to Show Cause, Summon and Complaints, and more. The division also executes Writs of Recovery, often in the form of evictions; Writs of Execution, often collection of judgments; as well as a number of other Writs.

Court Security: What to Expect at the Courthouse
The Sheriff's Office is responsible to protect the integrity of all court proceedings; sustain the rights of individuals before the court; deter those who would take violent actions against the court or its participants and maintain the decorum of the court.
Persons entering the Clay County Courthouse are subject to search to ensure weapons and other unapproved items are not allowed in courtrooms. The only public entrance is located at the main door on the east side of the building.

Find or Resolve Warrants and Prisoner Transport Services
The Warrants and Transport Unit takes into custody persons wanted on arrest warrants, processes new warrants, transports persons apprehended in other jurisdictions, delivers sentenced prisoners to the control of the Minnesota Department of Corrections at various facilities, and transfers prisoners as ordered for court appearances and other appointments.
Division Commander Responsibilities
Lt. Hagen coordinates the transfer of inmates to court, to Minnesota Department of Correction facilities, extradition of fugitives from throughout the U.S., and other appointments.
